Frequently Asked Questions

for the Nordic Junior Piano Competition

Q: How will I pay the application fee?

A: After the application process where you write all your information, provide links to recordings (eg. YouTube links), publicity photo and other information you will be asked to pay with Credit card through our PayPal portal. Only fully filled in and paid application form will be accepted.

Q: Should I submit all pieces for a round in one video, or in separate videos?

A: We accept videos with multiple pieces in one longer video, or separate pieces in separate video links. The only rule is to not cut a video recording inside a recording of a movement.

Q: May I use the same piece(s) in the Pre-selection and the Final Round?

A: No, you have to use completely different program in the videos of the Pre-selection and the Final Round.

Q: If I am recording a set of pieces that is part of a bigger work (e.g. several Debussy Preludes from the same Book), may I record them separately?

A: Yes.

Q: If I am recording a longer work with multiple movements (e.g. movements of a Bach Suite, movements of a Classical Sonata, etc.), may I record them separately?

A: Yes.

Q: May I apply with a movement of a concerto?

A: Yes in Video round, but not in Finals. In Pre-selection video, you may apply with concerto for piano, recorded solo, with second piano or with orchestra, as you wish. But in the Finals we are not providing a second piano on stage.

Q: Can I use videos that are recorded before 2021?

A: Yes. You may use videos recorded at any time, as long as you feel that it best represents your ability. However, you will be judged based on your current age, not the age when the video was produced.
